3 questions about using HTTPS and PcHelpWare

Post by Greta »

Is PcHelpWare compatible with the SCIII_SSL Repeater?

And why do I have to define a port when I use via repeater and use the HTTPS proxy? If I use the HTTPS proxy the connection use only port 443 to the repeater or not?

Where is the certificate for using SSL

Pchelpware has it own encryption , DH key exchange 512 bit and TWF 256.
No SSL is used, no SSL certificat.

PcHelpware Encryption is between server<->viewer, repeater doesn't decrypt the stream. Normal repeater can be used.

SCII_SSL encryption is between server<->repeater and repeater<->viewer, 2 SSL encryption streams are used. Repeater_SSL need to decrypt encrypt the stream.

A HTTPS proxy only allow connections to a https web server. The standard port for a https webserver is 443. Most proxy servers refuse connections (95%) to any other port then 443. When you can configure the proxy server, other ports could be used, but most of the time the proxy server is owned by the customer or isp, just use 443 to prevent trouble.
