In my humble opinion, this is a significant weakness of the current version. Using RegEdit to delete items in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ORL\VNCviewer\MRU is pretty dangerous for illiterate users.
And even for those of us that can do this sort of thing fairly safely, it is a real pain. For instance, I have several client sites that don't have static IP addresses. I therefore build up a lot of clutter quite quickly, and it is pretty irksome to have to go into the Registry to remove old IP addresses that are no longer relevant. Because there is no ability to add names for respective IP addresses, if you have a number of clients, it quickly becomes pretty difficult to tell which IP address belongs to whom (i.e. what is garbage, and what should be kept).
It would be great if the Viewer itself had a facility to add names/descriptions to respective stored IP addresses, and also the ability to delete ones that were no longer required (so we don't need to edit the Registry directly).

Re: IP Address Removal... Sorry this is a copy and paste...
Not about MRU cleaning, but dynamic IPs :
One related solution is manage for clients ( or make them to do so themselves ) free dynamic DNS records. ( www.no-ip.org , or maybe preferably www.dyndns.org )
if their IP changes, their dns record is mapped to a new IP.
- either manually by visiting website
- automatically by running their DNS mapping client
- for some routers, like home router linksys rtp300, there is even a built-in dyndns.org client, doing the mapping by its own.
I use it e.g even for my own public IP, not granted constant.
creating singleclicks or PChelpware server, I use this DNS instead of IP.
If my IP changes ( it happens ) I do not need to create new ones.
