EchoVNC 2.35
EchoVNC 2.35
EchoVNC combines the open-source echoWare DLL directly into the feature-rich Ultr@VNC Server and Viewer platform to create the easiest-to-use, "firewall-friendly" VNC platform available. With it, a Windows PC can be remotely accessed regardless of firewall, router or web-proxy configuration.
EchoVNC is free, open-source, and supports the following features:
o Secure connections to your PC's behind unconfigured firewalls and routers
o A "dynamic-DNS" capability for VNC Servers without static IP addresses
o A startup wizard to assist with initial setup
o Secure data sessions with 128-bit AES from the OpenSSL toolkit
o EchoVNC can run alongside other VNC servers, rather than instead of them.
o EchoVNC servers can log all sessions to a Shockwave movie file, for perfect "Black Box Logging"
With echoWare, client-server and peer-to-peer Internet application can easily and securely connect with each other regardless of any intervening firewalls, routers, or web-proxies. EchoWare-enabled clients interconnect with each other via a shareware application called echoServer -- together with EchoVNC and InstantVNC (our "single-click", zero-install VNC Server) it's the basis of the EchoWare Remote Support System: a remote-desktop solution that is "firewall-friendly", highly secure, and extremely low cost.

Re: EchoVNC 2.10
How hard would it be to allow Remote Connections via an EchoServer using DameWare MiniRemoteControl viewer? So if I have the DameWare Remote Control server installed on a Remote PC that is connected to my EchoServer I can use Echo VNCViewer to connect to that PC using Dameware Remote Control Viewer?
Make sence? Same thing as RAdmin but only DameWare Remote Control!
Regards,
This opens up all kinds of doors.
Many thanks,
MrChris

EchoVNC -run not reading/writing HKey_Current_User
I am trying to wrap winvnc.exe (from EchoVNC v2.36) into a AutoIt Script that writes all the nessisary Reg Entries and copies the files to where they need to be at ect.. But if I not logged in as an administrator on the local XP/2000 machine and run winvnc.exe -run it still wants to write/read from the System area of the Reg (HK_Local_Machine) instead of (HK_Current_User)
I am trying to set a password for the winvnc.exe server running in the Users Reg (user.dat) allowing users to run winvnc.exe in user mode with out having local admin rights.
Can this be done?
Many thanks,
MrChris

Re: EchoVNC 2.30
Hi! Just installed UltraVNC RC14 and EchoVNC 2.32.
Please explain in detail how to setup these two so that I can avoid hustles going through router and firewall. The OS combination is Server Vista/viewer Vista or Server XP/Viewer Vista.

Re: EchoVNC 2.35
It's very useful!
Does anybody knows how to build it based on the source code in the sourceforge.net.
I have tried VC++6.0 and VS 2008, even Borland C++ 5.5 compiler, to open and build it but failed.
Any suggestions or help will be appreciated!

EchoVNC 3.0 beta
Hello!. After years of delay bordering on abandonment ... the 3.0 update to the EchoVNC server for Windows is now available for beta testing:
ftp://ftp.echogent.com/EchoVNC/windows/beta/
Please just download that file, unzip it, and double click on the "setup" installer.
To use the application:
1. Select what type of remote desktop application you want EchoVNC to help with (VNC, Remote Deskop, or RAdmin).
2. Add an echoServer connection. By default it connects to our "demo echoServer", but you can of course use your own.
After that, it should be ready. Please keep in mind:
* the EchoVNC server is the application you install on a Windows PC when you want to be able to remote control this PC when it's "unattended" (i.e., there's no user sitting there while you're connected).
* if you want to connect to a Windows PC while there's a user there to receive your help, please use InstantVNC instead.
* in this version, EchoVNC is more than happy to work with any VNC server you already have installed. So if you're a big fan of RealVNC, TightVNC, UltraVNC (and who isn't?), please feel free to *keep using that program*. EchoVNC will simply help you make firewall-friendly connections to it.
* if you're not running a VNC service already, EchoVNC comes with one, and will kick-start it as needed. Try it out, you'll see what I mean.
In this beta, you can also register EchoVNC as a service. Right now, the settings you create in "standalone mode" don't get copied over. Am fixing that now, so please feel free to suggest this as an improvement.
Any questions or concerns, please let me know!
