why does the icon that appears with the clock on the right side of screen some time appear yellow and sometimes it is red. I have installed ultra vnc on some 20 odd computer by now and I still can not find a common link and sometime it changes from on the the other. anyone know why???

You need to add more information like what OS are you running them on? What version of UltraVNC are you running? Do you have any pluggins running? Do you have the UltraVNC video driver installed?

red vs. yellow

Well, I have two T41's with yellow and a Dell with a read icon, and all 3 are running WinXP SP2. So, beats me if I can find any difference. They all run ZoneAlarm, Norton, etc. plus I've a Linksys router.

No video driver installed, v 1.0.0 RC18 for me. No plugins.

one company that i set it up for has all dell and they have red and yellow dots- this is the company that wanted me to find out. anything usless that factors in??

What is the colour depth of the screen?
If the screen is only set to 256 colours then try something higher and see if the colour shifts.

Color depth sould not have anything dto do with a red or green icon.
