If I install my own repeater on my Linux server in a server farm, but I don't want other people to use it, can I protect it by a password?
Please note that I can't protect the two ports used by the repeater on the firewall allowing only the connection from my IP address, because I need to connect from all over the world
Is there a way not to become a public repeater?
Thank you very much!
Bye.

Re: Repeater security
I've been using the "Only Allow ID" option at the bottom of the settings menu in the PCHW Repeater. Just use an elaborate Tech ID and it will disallow all others.
This method is vulnerable to brute force attack, but someone would really need/want to get in and use your repeater to go through those lengths. I'd just use a long enough set of numbers to deter people who just fool around.
I've never had an issue with undesired access to my repeater, but no one really knows it's there.
