Hi
Not exactly new to uvnc, i've been using it quite happily for a while now, but i've recently migrated to server 2003.
I have a viewer in listen mode on a static ip address using port 5500, that is behind a computer running server 2003 which is connected directly to the internet.
I have configured my uvnc sc server to connect to the external ip address of my server.
The problem I have is that i can't connect the two.
uVNC SC ----> Internet ----> Server 2003 ----> uVNC Viewer (listen mode)
The port numbers match as far as i am aware.
Are there any guides out there i can RTFM or can someone give me some advice. I'm new to Server 2003 and i'm not sure how to google what i think should be "port forwarding".
To date i have tried "Routing Remote Access" from "Administration Tools" clicked my server name and clicked "IP Routing" and then "NAT/Basic Firewall" right clicked my network connection and then clicked "properties" then "services and ports".
I then added a uVNC port of 5500 TCP and 5500 UDP rebooted and found i could still not access the viewer.
In reality i'm actually connecting uVNC SC 192.168.1.200 -> server 2003 -> internet -> server 2003 -> 192.168.1.200
It works on a LAN connection but fails when i connect to LAN->WAN->LAN
Any ideas?
Adam

Re: ultravnc viewer server in listen mode behind server 2003
Hi,
Managed to get it working incase people have the same problem.
I needed to open ports 5500 and 5600 from Routing and Remote Access
Go to Routing and Remote Access
Under "server name"->IP Routing-> NAT/Basic Firewall
right click network connection and select "properties"
Click services and ports and make the changes you need here
Hope this helps the random searcher!
There's nothing more annoying that seeing a post exactly like your own with the problem listed and then and then and then ........ where's the bl**dy answer...........!!!

Re: ultravnc viewer server in listen mode behind server 2003
well, you was forgotten software routing, but now is OK, good.
on your network, we have only one hardware router/firewall. all others software router nat/firewall are disabled.
