vncviewer.exe has generated errors...

Post by ccmichaelson »

Upon launching the vncviewer.exe, I receive the following error message: "vncviewer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created". I'm running Windows 2000 Professional with all the latest patches/SP's.

The only change to my workstaion was our corporate security folks stripped the "Windows Update" capabilities from my workstation (they plan on doing a local windows update through other means). Prior to this change the viewer worked great!

Any help would greatly be appreciated. I get the same error with other VNCViewer versions except VNC Viewer 4 but I need UltraVNC Viewer to take advantage of the encryption plugin.

Thanks!

You might even want to check for error on the hard drive.

chkdsk /f.
