I've been using VNC SC (1.01) for 3 years. My setup is ultra simple - I port forward on our router for each pc on our network that will do support. Our helpdesk.txt has entries for each of these pc's (and a couple of partner IP:Port setups at other offices). We haven't used encryption - our sessions are usually short and involve app support or installs. What I love about SC is that I can run the viewer with the -listen port params from a shortcut. I also love the FTP style file transfer
Here are the problems I have with PCHelpWare:
1. No easy way to launch listener - must configure each session by hand.
2. Must launch separate listener for each connection.
3. If I forget to turn off clipboard sync and start trying to move a large SQL file from one remote folder to another remote folder on same pc I have to discconect and start over.
4. I only like 100% scaling - wish it would default to that.
5. Don't need encryption - PCHelpWare is slower than my VNC SC without encryption.
Not really that big a problem - I'm running both now because UVNC SC doesn't work in Vista. If end user on XP I run UVNC SC, if Vista, PCHelpWare. Its clunky to have to kill the listener, open the connection app in PCHelpWare and hand enter all my parameters - especially when I'm connecting with multiple pc's at once.
I notice that work is in process to get UNVC 1.04 working with Vista. Does that mean my beloved SC might be working soon with Vista?
Thanks
Doug

I don't know if this information can help, but I found some ohter users posting their solution of using SC under vista. You may take a look at:

We first need a 104 release else SC based on 104 will also have the same bugs.
Extracting SC is a 250 hours work, so i don't want to do it before 104 is runnning stable.
