I accidently installed UltraVista on my XP machine.
I have deleted the directory in ProgramFiles and used msconfig to disable its service, but for some reason Security task manager still shows it as running. I have tried to find the registry keys to make VNC visible but they are not there
My question is, How do I uninstall UltraVista from an XP machine?

Re: Uninstall UltraVista on XP
Try reinstalling and using the installer. It shows up under Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

Can't you just end the process in task manager??

If you installed as a service you will need to stop the service.
winvnc -remove from the \program files\ultravnc dir.

Re: Uninstall UltraVista on XP
Odd, when I install the program again it says that it cannot run the service becuase it already exists. But when I come to run that winvnc -remove command it says that the service does not exist.
Task manager does not show services, I'm using "Security task manager(trial)" to see that the service is running.
Dunno how much difference this makes but its UltraVista not regular Ultra, on a XP home sp2 computer.
