Function keys not implemented?

Post by quatermass »

When I bring up a UVNC window and press F12 I'd expect the remote machine to do the F12 action. But it happens locally.

Do function keys work through UVNC?

Running v1.02 on XP Pro on both pcs.

I've seen the 'send keycode' window but there appears to be no mention of what or how to get the keycode for a particular key. I assume this is because it's a developer addon?

Can someone help?

Sorry that doesn't make any sense to me.

I tried pressing my local Scroll-lock key whilst I had a viewer connection open and it didn't appear to do anything.

Ok, so I know this thread is YEARS old, but it came up in my Google search and I wanted to reply anyway in case it helps anyone else...

Using the latest UltraVNC 1.0.8 - pressing the scroll lock key (so that scroll lock toggles ON) on my local/client computer and then entering the viewer that is connected to the machine running UltraVNC as the server makes it so that pressing the windows key and window key shortcuts (like windows + E) and the function keys act as if I am pressing them on the remote computer (UltraVNC server).

That's what the other poster meant.

Sorry if this annoys people, reviving a dead thread and all, but maybe it can be helpful.

Thanks. Happy VNCing.
