Repeater not connecting

Post by henderpa »

Repeater error

I'm trying to setup the repeater for external use but I'm testing it internally and cannot get it to work.

Running versions:
Winvnc 19_9
Vncviewer 1.0.0.18 (but it's from the 19_9 directory)
repeater 1.02
Win2k (on all three pc's)

On PC I goto "Add New Client" and type 192.168.10.152:5901 into Host Name, ID:123 into ID code and click OK. On the repeater console I see "Viewer added to list 123".

Then on PC2 I open the VNCviewer and type 123 into VNC Server, 192.168.10.152:5901 into Proxy/Repeater and click Connect. On the repeater console I see the following:

connecting to 0.0.0.123:5900
connect() failed.
Unable to connect to destination host, errno=10060

What am I doing wrong? TIA.

By the way, all of these workstations can connect to each other via normal VNC connections.

ID:123 and not 123
123 -> repeater think you are asking to connect to ip 123

When I do that I see:

accept() connection

on the Repeater console but the viewer seems to hang with on "Negotiate Protocol Version" and then times out.

Eventually I'll see an info box that says "Connection failed - Error reading Protocol Version".
