Hi,
VNC SC is great, I discovered it when a supplier of ours sent us a link to connect to there helpdesk... I looked into the file they sent me, and after extracting, I created a distribution for our own use.
It works great, on our local network.
But, It wont work from any of our remote sites? Or VPN Client users?
Its the local IP it's connecting to (10.0.0.0/255.255.255.0) but our remote VPN sites are all 10.1.0.0 - 10.5.0.0... They can connect via RDP to my machine, can ping it etc, but VNC SC gives this error...
"Connection failed - Error reading Protocol Version
Possible causes:
- You've forgotten to select a DSMPlugin and the server uses a DSMPlugin
- Viewer and Server are not compatible ...
- Bad connections"
Any ideas? I haven't tried creating a key, at the moment we dont want one with it being internal...
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Alan

VNC SC over a VPN???
Re: VNC SC over a VPN???
I have seen this when SC is used with SSH tunnels, and just presumed it was a SSH tunnel thing, but now im starting to believe that when they "CUT" the UVNC source down to create the SC distro, that something was left out ...
I was wanting to see what changes where made from the original UVNC source to make the SC, but without having access to the original source for both, that is fairly difficult (i do have the latest sources, but not originals)
even if someone knows how to get UVNC running without adding/changing registry settings, that would be great.
