Hi everyone,
Last night, I set up my system as follow
1. I have HP laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium, being support laptop.
2. My wife has another laptop, running XP Pro SP2, being client laptop
3. I installed UltraVNC 1.0.2 on my HP and configure it properly (I can tell)
4. I registered at dyndns one account for my static Host
5. I created SC with aforementioned static HOST, port 7900 (I changed it and re-routed it in my Router). The instruction comes with it but most important was "-connect MYHOST:7900" (I've read somewhere on this forum that it should be "-connect MYHOST::7900" with "two" semicolons but I did not use this, I use only one semicolon). Also, I did not use any encryption method just yet (for the purpose of testing this works first)
6. Whenever my wife runs the SC I've created from her XP Pro SP2 laptop, from my side I could notice the "Listener" pop-up message asked me to allow or reject, I clicked "allow" but after that nothing happened. On her side, the SC kept running for about 5 seconds, the laptop screen was flickering during this time and then again, nothing happened
But, if I install UltraVNC on her laptop and run "Viewer" to my laptop, it was working beautifully, no glitches or hitches.
Any suggestions and recommendation? Am I missing something along the line?
Thank you very much for your kind support!

Anyone? please???
Re: SC to connect Vista Viewer from XP Pro, how???
Never actually tried this, but i have a few questions, and a suggestion
Q1) What version of UVNC are you running on the vista
Q2) if that is not the latest beta version, why not
Q3) if it is the latest Beta, have you tried having the XP on the same version ???
Suggestion) Try simply using UVNC to do a reverse connection to your viewer (http://www.uvnc.com/install/cmdline.html)
create a shortcut to the installed winvnc.exe and then add command (-connect MYHOST::7900) after the last inverted coma (")
PS, take a good look at the above wesite, it explains why you need TWO semi-colons
