Viewer.exe UPnP Not Working Under Windows Server 20003 R2

When I click the Map Upnp button under Server 2003 I receive message:

Test: Upnp

Unable to add mapping.

The progress control just above the Map Upnp remains grayed-out.

Under Windows XP, this feature works correction. I have tried multiple Server 2003 and XP computers connected to the same Linksys BEFSX41. The XP computers always work and the Server 2003 computers always fail the Upnp port routing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Server 2003 and pchelpware have major issues with each other.. Mine will not work at all.. The developers now about it and will correct it when they have time.

Interesting. I can get it to work as a viewer with my Winserv 2003 standard edition. It won't detect DirectX, but that's not a huge loss. Same server will also work just fine running the redirector as well. Did you mean that you can't use the server portion of PcHelpWare on 2003 server?

Both the Server and the viewer work under Server 2003 but the viewer.exe option for UPnP port mapping does not work. I have to manually map the ports within my router. Under XP the UPnP port mapping works without a glitch.

will not function at all on 2003 R2 small biz i get a 7zip errror.

dynalias is kinda buggy as well

The 7zip error typically occurs if you are running 64-bit OS/Hardware. The 7zip program does not support 64-bit operation.

Good to know, but that doesn't help bevtech, as a 64 bit edition of Small Business server 2003 doesn't exist to my knowledge. Which means he's running 32 bit, which 7zip shouldn't have problems with.

correct my server box is a 2003 32bit sbs prem edtion..

Another tip: There seems to be issues with the repeater and that version of operating system..


I was fine till a windows update got me with the repeater..

I found this thread as I also couldn't connect to a 2003 server , basically just posting so I can get any replies as I like this util alot, works great with vista. I can use SC at least on the 03 servers. thanks!
