hmm probably not documentation on the repeater. I kinda got upset with the lack of help on it and i will not have time till winter to write it myself...:(..

It is very similar to the standard repeater except port ssl 443 is used along with port 5912 for dynalias.. though i dont recommend using the alias because i fear it is really buggy

well, I thank you for what you have done here on the forum and else where with this project. You do reply a lot quicker than a lot of other here ;)

so there is no documentation what so ever of the repeater?
I'm most interested in the restricion settings..
like
"only allow connections to server"
"refuse connections to server"
"restrict access to server port"
They may be self exlainable, but still it would be nice to have some documtentation that makes sure what they are for.

thanks. so the

"only allow connections to server"
"refuse connections to server"

are the server in this case the server port for vnc, or the repeater server.
will restriction here, be on both server and viewer port?

the repeaters help connnect the viewer to the server They are mostly on the outer edge of a network to make nat to nat simpiler

"only allow connections to server"
Means it will only allow connections to serves listed in that field

"refuse connections to server"
Means it will refuse connection to the servers listed in that field

You can only use mode two with pchelpware..;)

The only allow ID's will restrict the repeater to only use those specific ids hence keep someone from creating ID's and using them without your permission..

if more than one user(server) in the same time uses the same ID for example 12345678, but only one user(server) knows the real password......
will repeater only accept user(server) with the correct password and connect him to viewer or reapeater will reject all users with the same ID and then try later if only one user connects with the ID
...a bit confusing question i know.........

if more then one person uses the same id at the same time you will get discconnected.. That is if the password is saved.. See the Pchelpware repeater currently sets up the connection from the server to the viewer in an encrypted tunnel so all traffic is going through the repeater....This can be a major problem if lets say like more then 3 people are connected using full graphics. if your computer is not on a high speed link say like T1-T5 then you will notice slow performance..

The repeater01.ultravnc.info is currently running on a 3kbs down and 586kps up.. so I really only recommend it for testing and the users setup your repeater like you are that way if it is in your lan with viewer you are only bottlenecking via internet traffic on one side of the connection not both..

thnx for the reply

let me get this straight, correct me if i am wrong...
so if more than one user uses the same ID at the same time , they all will be kicked(disconnected) right? even if one of them uses the correct password which the viewer also uses....?

I mean something like this when more users connect at the same time with the same ID or during the existing season between server and viewer:

------User1 ID:12345678 password:asdfgh-->>--rejected-->--
------User2 ID:12345678 password:yxcvbn-->>--rejected-->--|->>-all users disconected[repeater]---<<--viewer ID:12345678 password:qwertz
------User3 ID:12345678 password:qwertz-->>--rejected-->--

is this scheme above correct or fault,
Will User3 make connection with the viewer or it will be disconnected like others?

you mean the repeater stoped working on win2003 and vista?
or did you mean the singleclick pchelpware exe stoped working?
do you know when next version of singleclick pchelpware exe will be available? months? over the year?
Vista support is a must...

hmm strange. I don't have a win2003 in SBS edition, instead I have a enterprise edition, and the repeater runs perfect there. I don't see why the repeater shouldn't work on win2003 SBS... (and I just tested to remote control the enterprise edition. no problems there.)

so theres only one dev working alone on this project?
and he is waitning for the ultra vnc to go from beta to stable?
or is he working on a new version of pchelpware now?

there are several developers they all work on different parts. The two main developers are working on uvnc only right now trying to finish it so they can address other issues

quite good to hear, bevtech
;)
I guess I will have to be patient until then.
I hope for Vista support and better repeater control.(and nat2nat helper technology in the repeater, if it's not allready included. and fallback to normal repeater mode)
