VNC SC generating encryption key using viwer

Hi all

Im new to this forum, and have been fondeling with setting up VNC SC for our clients to give em easier support.

Ofcause we will need encryption and read a wonderfull post here on how to genereate your own encryption file, sadly i have lost the link.

What it told me to do was to install Ultravnc Viewer copy the MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm file into the ultravnc folder, choose MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm in the "Use DSMPlugin" and mark it off focause. Click the config button and you get a new screen

In the new screen the file name of my new key is set to new_rc4.key and i have checked the 128 bit option. Clicking the "Gen Key" button and then acording the guide the "new_rc4.key" should apear in my Ultravnc folder, but it doesn't?!?!?

I have even tried to rename the file name and nothing.

Im running vista don't know if this can have anything to do with it?

On Vista, try to run app as "run as admin".

Even we you logon as administrator, you don't have access to all unless you use " run as admin". very confusing Vista security.

/program files/ -> need runasadmin
some reg settings also

Ah you led me in the right direction though the only thing needed was to right click the ultravnc exe file and choose run as admin
