Direct connection or through repeater ?

Post by NeverBC »

What is the best way to use PcHelpware:

by using direct connection or through a repeater ?

Both ways works, but I really don't know whats preferable.

If you have more than one supporter helping users over the internet you should use a repeater. Therefore, you just need one public IP number...

So with only one supporter it is best to use direct connection?

Yes, because it's simpler. You don't have to setup a repeater...

only depend of your need:

direct connection is faster and require open port to viewer side only.
good if you support only from one place or many other place with a dynamic dns and have access to NAT router for forward port required.

via repeater is good for support from everywhere without opening any port to customer and your computer on the move.

Thanks, now I know the difference, I will choose for direct connection (faster and I am able to open ports in my router)

One more question: If I use a repeater, would the vieuwer work if I put it on a usb-stick on any computer?
