Viewer behind NAT problem

Post by SecaThor »

Hi !

I have a little problem.

Sometimes, I need to help my client, I currently use LogMeIn, but I need to say how to install it to my client (and sometimes it can take a long time).

PC HelpWare can slove this.

I'am behind 2 router,
I don't have access to the first router, but the network administrator have forwarded a range (5900 to 5950, TCP and UDP) to a Linux box (second router).

From my Linux box, I forward the range to my computer.

In the PC Helpware server, I use direct connection on port 5901, no repeater or dynalias.

Does I need to forward another port ?
The connection is forwarded twice, this can cause some problem ?

I cannot forward connection from the first router direct to my computer because I work on different computer almost everyday and the network administrator will not change setting each time.

Thanks for your help

5901 not allowed
5500 TCP for reverse connection
customer (remote) won't need change anything to their router/firewall
except allow outgoing connection to Vista firewall on demand.

(remote) server connect to your viewer (local)
request forward port 5500 on both router and linux box
and open port incoming 5500 TCP to both firewall if exist.
