Dragging doesn't work?

Post by Stewart »

Maybe I'm just new to VNC, and I haven't found the right configuration, but I can't really drag anything. I think maybe the mouse click doesn't get sent to the server until I let go of the button. I tried dragging a window and the window didn't move until I let go. I tried running Blender3d and moving the 3d view, but it didn't update until I let go of the mouse button. If I try to move an icon I get a circle with a diagonal line through it and the icon only reappears when I let go.

It's possible the the screen just isn't refreshing while I have the mouse button clicked down. It refreshes pretty quickly otherwise. I haven't tried watching any video but everything seems responsive as long as I'm not holding the mouse button down.
Every once in a while there will be a small box, about a cubic inch, on the screen where I can actually see that part of the screen updating normally instead of freezing, which makes me believe that it should be working.

I have tried this with both tighvnc and ultravnc. I haven't installed the accelerated video hook driver for either, so I might try that.

I'm also behind a firewall on my router, but the computer I'm accessing is local.
