Has anyone AUTOMATED / bypassed the log in screen in VNC/SC?

Post by BrandonJThomas »

:tomato: I hate having to ask my customers to login everytime I reboot their pc. I know how to turn the this into a service, that is a breaze. But how do you automate the logon (userid/password) portion to allow for reconnect?
:surprise:

This can be done by using the Auto Logon procedure.

So when your client connected your viewer with SC, asking them to enable Auto Logon too -- you need to ask them to do so because this procedure need him/her to input the password, or unless you use an A/C that you know the password. After enable this feature the computer will logon to that client's A/C automatically when reboot.

Upon complete your job, just disable the Auto Logon then the pc will resume as before when boot up.

See how to enable Auto Logon at: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/usin ... logon.mspx

:x I take it back, it isn't a breeze to turn the server into a service. Any suggestions? I am trying to reestablish the connection automatically after a reboot or when the connection breaks. Here's the error I get.
Error 1053. The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion :o

Rather than have the SC running as a service, there is a work around to accomplish the reconnection after reboot.

I had derived a prcedure for PcHelpWare Service to reconnect after reboot (running on WinXP), this should be applicable to SC too.
See the procedure at: [topic=9602][/topic]
