Ok, I started off using Single Click and then was referred to PC Helpware, I thought it was nice, only slow. I went back to single click (preferred my Boss) to try to get this thing to work. I feel I get closer everytime and it's exciting! Except for now. The past couple of hours have been a pain. I keep getting this connection error:
Connection Failed - Invalid Protocol
Possible Causes:
- You've Forgotten to select a DSMPlugin and the Server uses a DSMPlugin
- Viewer and Server are not compatible (they use different RFB Protocols)
Now I downloaded the MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm plugin and placed it where my viewer executable is. When I then tried to load the DSM Plugin I got an error saying the it could not load my plugin and to check the integrity. So after searching forums on here I found one where another user had a similiar problem. He was told to run this command (i even placed it in my shortcut):
"C:\Program Files\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -dsmplugin MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm -listen 5500
So I ran it, and I am able to load the DSM plugin and even hit config! So I can select it and configure it on both viewer and server. However, when I start my viewer in listen mode, I have the another computer start up single click and I see a window pop up telling me to put a password in. So I put my password that is in my Admin properties on my WinVNC and nothing happens. Not another screen or anything. The viewer sits in the system tray and the only way to close it is to start Task Manager. Sorry if this was a run on but I wanted to put everything down. Could somone please tell me what is going on? I have no idea.

Re: Where is my Window for support?
if server don't use encryption, don't load the msrc4plugin to your viewer.
this is another error unrelated to dsmplugin

Re: Where is my Window for support?
So the plugin is not compatible with Single Click? I was able to get it to work without encryption just fine. The thing is, we are going to use this software to connect to clients of the business. We need something that is going to be totally secure. My boss plans on using our VPN to connect to his work PC and then from his work PC use UltraVNC to connect to clients, we don't want to have to worry about not having a static IP. Does that sound like it would work? I guess I have tons of questions.....mainly we need it secure.

How do I delete a post if I fixed the problem?

It would be better if you posted how you fixed the problem in case someone else has done the same thing .
Re: Where is my Window for support?
Good Idea!
I don't even know where to begin. But I will try.
Aftert reading post upon post I finally put it all together and here goes.
I uninstalled UltraVNC completely and deleted all the other files in the C:\Program Files\UltraVNC. I felt it gave me a fresh start.
Here is what I did and right now it works perfectly fine even with encryption.
1. Install UltraVNC (Viewer Only)
2. Download Plugin http://msrc4plugin.home.comcast.net/msrc4plugin.html
3. Copy MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm into C:\Program Files\UltraVNC
4. Copy all six files that you unzipped into C:\Program Files\UltraVNC\plugin (maybe i didn't need to do this I don't know, I did it anyway)
5. Opened UltraVNC Viewer, checked UseDSMPlugin and click Config
6. Selected 128 bit and rename the key to rc4.key and click Gen Key. This key will be located in the directory C:\Program Files\UltraVNC
7. Right Click/Properties on Run UltraVNC Viewer (Listen Mode) and pasted the following in the "Target" field
"C:\Program Files\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -dsmplugin MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm -listen 5500
8. When I created the executable I deleted the rc4.key that it unzipped and replaced it with the one I created. I also included the MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm but renamed it to MSRC4Plugin.dsm I then uploaded it, downloaded the executable and tested it out on a machine on our network.
Works awesome! I just hope it works on the outside too. All that info I got from other post on here, so whoever came up with all that info....thank you! It worked.

Re: Where is my Window for support?
Oops!
Found a problem.......if the user is selected non encrypted support your viwer won't load it.
Probably because of the
"C:\Program Files\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -dsmplugin MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm -listen 5500
Solution?
Maybe two shortcuts? one for encryption one for not? I don't know if anyone has a better idea I'd like to know what do to. Other than that it works good.
