HowTo? SC --> Router --> Company's Server --> PC wi

Post by b-star »

Hi,

I am new to this Board, but I am using UltraVNC and SC for a year. Now a company wish me to set up a UltraVNC-Engine at the company's network.

What i have done and is operating:
- configured SC to connect to company's router
- Port Forwarding from Router to main-server with static IP
- installed UltraVNC on Server and set to listen mode

--> Main-Server can control a SC-PC from outside (internet)

My Problem:
- Main-Server needs to forward the connection to a PC in the local net.

My Solution (not working):
- install a Repeater on Main-Server to forward SC-Connections to defined static PC-names (not IP, because of DHCP)

Is there anybody outside, who can help me?

How do i have to configure the repeater to forward a SC-Connection to a PC per PC-name? I didn't found a way to connect an ID (in SC) with the PC-Name.

Greeting!

replace ip by hostname, that all.

but some router don't support hostname and only support ip address translation.

pratical example:
Netopia support hostname and dhcp and as well static and dynamic ip
zyxel don't support hostname, only dynamic and static ip

anyway, repeater is better on a static ip or manual reserved ip on dhcp server, so it never change
