I'm not sure what I did wrong. We had it working, and now the veiwer keeps giving the message "an exising connection was forcibly closed by remote host" for both our external and internal connections. The only other error in debug is a socket error read, error code 10054.
We are using a direct connection and have the ports forwarded correctly. The only change I made was adding new hosts on different ports in the helpdesk.txt file so that we could have more than one computer/person doing the support. We are using the custom file, get the same error when I use a server that I create on the viewer.
[Host]
Helpdesk 1
-connect 75.x.x.x:5500 -passwd 3858xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
[Host]
Helpdesk 2
-connect 75.x.x.x:5501 -passwd 3858xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
[Host]
Helpdesk 3
-connect 75.x.x.x:5502 -passwd 3858xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
[Host]
Helpdesk 4
-connect 75.x.x.x:5503 -passwd 3858xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I got the passwd from a server I created using the viewer and just copied it over to the helpdesk in the custom folder before running the batch file. It works fine is I just use the server created in the Viewer, but if we did that, we'd have 4 different files we'd have to post on our web sight and we'd like to avoid that and make it less confusing for our clients. I haven't tested the others yet because we haven't configured our router to forward those connections yet. There has got to be something simple I'm missing, just can't see it. When I tried to go back to just the origional Helpdesk connection in the helpdesk.txt file I get the same result. It acts like it is working and opened the window that will have the remote desktop briefly and closes down. The server side just flashes and the connection screen pops up.

Update:
I thought I had tried it before, but I guess not. I went ahead a recreated the custom file without the password and it connected fine (after taking the password out of the viewer as well). That just means I will have to go in a adjust the profiles on the other helpdesk computers which is not a big deal. But is it safe to do this w/out the pw? The viewer does say it is starting encryption.
Would it have been better if we used a repeater? But since we have a staic ip and can forward the correct ports, I didn't see the need. Any insight would be appreciated-thank you.
