MS Terminal Services Directx disabled.

Post by tjadhav »

Hello all,
Congrats to all the developers for a great software.

Most of my support techs use Terminal services to connect to a windows server 2003 server to get to thier desktop, if I use the directx diagnostics (dxdiag) it shows that Direct Draw and Direct3D are not available. But when I log into the server directly without terminal services and run dxdiag all DirectX features are being displayed as available. I'm using the repeater on my lan with mode II. I could use the mirror drivers on the remote pc by instructing the support techs to install the drivers but most of the techs use it as a one time connection to the remote pcs. Users who have thier own pcs have little to no complains, but users who connect to the terminal server have frequent freezes and lockups. So the question is are my users using PcHelpWare Via Terminal Services using Gdi or Directx and also how do I determine if the viewer is using Gdi or Directx for any connection ?

Thanks in advance
T J

by default is directx enabled,
otherwise
on the upper left of title hostname - username - cpu usage and memory usage at startup of pchelpware_viewer is written (gdi) if directx is unavailable or disabled from user or unsupported by Graphic display adapter or not fully compatible DirectX9
