Screen will not load!

Post by fecklessness »

So I setup a server. Inside my LAN it works great!

Whenever I have a client connect to me over the internet, it partially loads maybe 3/4 of screen at the most, not showing any desktop icons or the start bar... only the wallpaper.

It will not force refresh and I have tried disabling direct x and high/med/low quality modes.

What is going wrong and how do i make this work?

It seems to behave the same way whether I have installed the video driver or not (I've tried on three remote computers)

Each failed connection has been over WAN... when I do it in my office LAN it works beautifully.

I don't understand what you mean by "tcp/ip stack mtu size uncorrect, could you try update by drtcp ?" - Do you mind clarifying or dumbing it down for my simple brain?

DrTCP is a small software can fix some issue of TCP/IP and easy to view settings of TCP without special knowledge of registry.

MTU= Maximum Transmission Unit
MTU = 1500 (default value for Ethernet, LAN)
MTU = 1492 (PPPoE and VPN sometime require this value, recommanded by CheckPoint VPN)
