I managed to make a direct connection to another pc over lan. Then I tried to make a connection via Repeater "repeater01.ultravnc.info" and with parameters suggested in Thread: [topic=9663][/topic]
but when I start the viewer it tries to connect and after 1 or 2 seconds I get the above message. Port testing was ok, what do I miss?
Regards
Andi

Re: "Network stopped, closing viewer"

Re: "Network stopped, closing viewer"
Pretty sure. But what does port testing actually do? Could there still be some router or firewall blocking the connection?

Re: "Network stopped, closing viewer"
The Zero Configuration settings don't require any router modifications so I don't think your router is preventing the connection. The Zero Configuration makes the connection using outbound connections on both the server and viewer sides so typically software firewalls will prompt you to allow the connection. Did you receive popups and answer to allow the connections?Could there still be some router or firewall blocking the connection?
Are you testing with both the server and viewer on the same LAN? Try sending the server you create to a friend on a different LAN.
Bevtech, does the repeater need to be restarted?
Re: "Network stopped, closing viewer"
The Windows firewall popped up us usual and I unblocked the traffic.
But from what I've learned, when making a connection I have to start the viewer first and that's when I get the error message. How does it make a difference whether the remote server (which I would start later) is on the same network or a different one?

Re: "Network stopped, closing viewer"
I tried the same thing at home. Different computer, different network, same problem. But I think I figured it out now: I used alphanumeric characters for the ID.
It seems to work when using only numbers. I'll try that at the office on monday. Have a nice weekend.

Re: "Network stopped, closing viewer"
