UltraVNC SC - cannot see the remote screen

Post by shadow »

Hello there, I am a newbie to VNCSC, I have managed to install the application and compile/customise the .exe, but when I try and connect from a remote machine, I cannot see the screen on the remote machine. I have turned on the display query window to check that the connection is progressing ok, and as you accept the screen flashes in the usual way.

The server is a Win XP PRO box
Draytek router, port forwarding to the Win XP machine
The testing machine is on a different IP address as well, (I have 2 adsl connections)
tried connecting from an XP machine and a vista machine.
I have installed the video hook driver
I installed the RSS software to check if there was a machine problem that could be affecting the setup, that works ok, but I really prefer VNCSC

I'm fresh out of ideas here if anyone can help I would be grateful.

Thanks

Jolian

sounds like your single click is not connecting to session 0. Make sure that fast user switching is not enabled and that only one person is logged unto the machine at a time..

Thanks for the speedy reply, the machine in question is part of a 2003SBS domain, so fast user switching is not an issue, I thought at first that there was a firewall issue stopping traffic. I have turned off the firewalls, checked that all the relevant ports are open, and installed and ran the RSS program that I found on the forums, (that worked ok).
