PcHelpWare and Linux Repeater

Post by ms75 »

Hello,

after spending the whole Day searching the Forum for help with my problem, im confussed if PcHelpWare Rel 1.0 works with the Linux Repeater Version 0.14 from this http://koti.mbnet.fi/jtko/ adress. Some say that it will work and some think it only work with SC.
My Problem:
When i connect the PcHelpWare_viewer with the Repater they are connected for 5 Seconds, then the repeater(?) disconnect the connection. There is not enough time to connect the server to get the connection between server and viewer.

The output from the repater is:
UltraVnc Tue Mar 20 15:04:19 2007 > routeConnections(): new server connecting, accepting...
UltraVnc Tue Mar 20 15:04:19 2007 > acceptConnection(): connection accepted ok from ip: x.x.x.x
UltraVnc Tue Mar 20 15:04:19 2007 > nonBlockingRead(): start
UltraVnc Tue Mar 20 15:04:24 2007 > nonBlockingRead(): timeout error
UltraVnc Tue Mar 20 15:04:24 2007 > acceptConnection(): Reading id error

As you can see, after 5 seconds there is an timeout error.

The debug window on the viewer machine give this output:
Start Repeater connection to x.x.x.x on port 5500
--Der Vorgang wurde erfolgreich beendet.
Socket error read, error code 0
--Der Vorgang wurde erfolgreich beendet.

Can somebody help me?
Thanks.

PcHelpware has it's own repeater but I don't think there is a Linux repeater yet. It has been requested.

I think there is a linux version of the repeater for pchelpware but it stability is in question. That is what the uvnc.com repeater is..

Edit correction: The uvnc.com repeater is a windows version..

This would be the missing piece to my puzzle... Any chance of baiting developers with money to get a stable Linux repeater for PHW? =)

The problem is the the main developers are windows developers so money to create a linux repeater is not going to work. What we need is a few linux developers to fix the repeater to work in linux..;)

I am using the version above (14) and it's working great. No problems.
I have it hosted on a Server Beach Server and connect easily between Vista and XP.
