While lock "Input and Monitor" CAN show notice mes

Post by kmanapp »

While triggered "Toggle Remote Input and Remote Blank Monitor", the remote machine will turn into Black Screen.

But I would rather like the remote screen to display somekind of notice message or image (with company logo) like "Your Computer is under maintenance by System Administrator, please hold on for serveral minutes .......". Can it be possible on UltraVNC?

Thanks in advance !

i would like to see this aswell, perhaps you could be able to have the ability to point it at a company jpg that cna be stretched/centred on the black screen.

as our users upon seeing a black screen push and hold the power button, because they are cavemen. 8)

has any progress been made with this feature request, or has this been discounted as unfeasible?

If you put a background.bmp in the folder of winvnc.exe and use
the alpha blending blanking, this image is shown instead of a black screen.

This option is already in ultravnc from 1.0.2

Putting a background.bmp in the same folder as the realvnc.exe file worked once, but no longer works, and seems like it could use improvement as far as how this feature is completely absent from the gui.

What I'd like to see is a way to designate a corner of the server machine's screen in which your picture, which could be actively browsed for and selected, could be overlayed onto either a black (blanked) screen or a non-blanked screen. I work in an environment with a bunch of machines that I am maintaining and monitoring processes on - I constantly have users needing to remote in, make changes, and disconnect, and it would be a huge time and frustration saver to be able to know who was logged into a particular machine and still see what they're doing on the machine. Being able to use an image should be an option, but the default should allow the remoting-in user's machinename to be displayed in a standard font in a corner of the server's screen.

This feature would put UltraVNC further into the stratosphere in relation to other VNC products out there. Kudos on a kickass product.

I can't make the background.bmp appear on the disabled server. I have saved the file on the "server" workstation in the winvnc.exe folder and enabled alpha blending. Is there anything special about the background.bmp file or any other suggestions perhaps?
