I have this persistent problem when l try to connect from inside my lan..The viewer is listening and shows 'encryption setup complete'..but 'Read failed' error message appears..
My units are all behind a wireless router and the viewer is

ERROR 'read failed'
Re: ERROR 'read failed'
Do you mean the error shown at viewer?
Please make sure to use a matched password at both sides.
If password is not the issue, please provide information of the setting of your viewer & server (the helpdesk.txt), network environment, etc.

Re: ERROR 'read failed'
thanks for responding..yes the message is in the viewer..pretty simple network..dhcp from the router..l try to connect via firefox to the viewer address at 192.168.0.104:5500 and the error message comes up..l have tried with or without port forwarding with the same result..again thanks.
Re: ERROR 'read failed'
pchelpware only connects with the pchelpware viewer I am confused as to why you would be trying to connect via firefox??
Are you sure this is a pchelpware question of a Ultra Vnc question??

Re: ERROR 'read failed'
Thanks for your input..lt is not vnc as l use that without problems..my quest is to determine how the connection is initiated from the remotebox? unlike vnc, pchelpware server has to be downloaded to the remote box from the viewer box... that is my understanding, from all of what l have read..Is this correct?
I have created the server in the viewer and my helpdesk shows the ip address, port and passwd ask...what else is there to do?

Re: ERROR 'read failed'
ok..once you create a server then you need to test it.. the server is the computer that you are viewing..
Do you have the ports open to your viewer so that the server will work
