Ok let me see if i can get this straight, I use my IP address of my cable modem service which is something like 24.665.23.156 (fake) whatever , for my heldesk.txt , with the port 5500. But when I do the port forwarding it forces me to use a generic router IP like 192.168.1.2 port 5500. Is this right?
thanks

IP address problems please help
Re: IP address problems please help
First test on your local network. In the helpdesk file you put the IP of the machine that you are listening on and and port forward on your router to that machine. From another computer on your network launch the SC and connect to the listening PC.
After you make that connection you can then move to a Internet connection.
