Hi Guys,
Is it possible to run ultraVNC overWAN, internet behind router? Without installing any plugins.
I'll be doing some remote support. My clients will have UltraVNC server install. They are connected to internet directly (using a cable modem or DSL). I am behind a firewall and router. The router and firewall are set to allow connections on ports that are needed by VNC (5800, 5900, etc.).
My clients are behind firewall and have ports 5800-5900 open for VNC connections.
Thanks in advance!
SH

Thanks for the reply. I will be supporting same clients over a long period of time. So its not going to be one time only support call. I think my best option is to get UVNC server installed on their server.
Is this possible over WAN with UVNC server?
Thanks again!

I agree with Bevtech. PcHelpWare is a better choice for what you're trying to do. Using this would allow your clients to run without opening ports in the their firewall. But if you'd rather use UltraVNC it sounds like you are set up properly. Only thing that could give you trouble would be software security software like a firewall.
