New to UltraVNC SC - Trying tio work
Hi, I'm new to ultravnc SC, and thought it would be a good idea to implement this if any of my clients had a question while I was not at their location. So I setup my program and compiled it, to connect to my computer via port 4900. I set it up to have multiple support reps even though it's just me for the moment testing it. I sent the file to a friend, and I've tried it on a local machine that's on a different internet connection, and neither work. It says on their end that it has connected successfully, THEN it just disconnects with no error messages, and I don't see anything on my end. Is there something I'm missing? I have the Ultra VNC Server running, and I have tried it with RealVNC Listening Viewer running as well. Is there another plugin or add on I need to download? Thanks!

Are you sure you have the ports forwarded and open??
Did you test locally to make sure that it is setup properly

yeah the ports are forwarded to the correct computer, and they're open on the firewall as well, tried it without firewall, all give me same response...

if it is not working locally it will never work on the internet.
Note: When testing locally use your private ip address and not the internet IP..

yeah it's weird...my regular VNC works, when I'm at work (6 miles away lol) I can connect to my computer just fine, but the VNC SC doesn't connect...very weird...i'm going to try a different port...

Re: New to UltraVNC SC - Trying tio work
that was what I was thinking...I'm using that offline compiler. I read that I need to modify the batch file called Setup in order to get some certain variables to come out the way I wanted. Is there a certain variable that can cause it to not send something to the listening viewer? It's as if it connects and then it will right away disconnect, as if it is timing out...

not sure I used to test locally with local ips until I got it working then changed the ip to a internet address. I know that you start with the non encryption first then once that is working you use the encrypted one

Re: New to UltraVNC SC - Trying tio work
gah I'm such an idiot...I totally forgot to set UVNC Viewer to listen on the correct port. I happened to overlay my cursor o nthe tray icon and a balloon popped up "UltraVNC Viewer, Listening on Port: 5500"
so I set the compiled program to port 5500 and it worked! soooooo....time to get a friend to test it out for me in Chicago!
