alt-tab with fullscreen does not bring up new application

Post by Guest »

if i have VNC open as a maximized window, and I alt-tab to switch between windows-based applications, why is it that the newly selected app doesn't appear on top of the VNC window? is there an option to turn VNC's "always on top" off?

thanks.

p.s. this was erroneously posted to the feature request forum initially

Reason for the "on top" in full screen mode is the local taskbar.

When the vncviewer don't have the top z level, the local taskbar cover the remote window.

Your monitor would show the remote window with the local taskbar(covering the remote)
You can auto hide the local taskbar, but each time you wonna click the remote, the local popup.

I think changing it would cause more trouble then a not working alt-tab.

Could that be an option? I dont have a taskbar. Many people i know have moved theirs. We all could use the al-tab even if ours bar was always on top.

Btw, does that still happen if you uncheck the taskbar's 'always-on-top' option?

i agree with NightRyder.

maybe it doesn't make sense to have the alt-tab functionality be a default, but i think it does make sense to at least have that option available to the user.
