Repeater will not work

Post by Peter Marchert »

Hello,

I tried for a couple of weeks the repeater function and it worked fine.

Some days ago I tried it again and I got a message like "host not found" or similar.

Today I started with a new download and the original files.

The direct connection works fine, but the repeater will not work. Here my settings I have done:

ID: 3256 (I tried several IDs)
Host Repeater: uvnc.com
Listen Port Viewer: 5500
Listen Port Server: 5901

The Test ist OK for both ports.

Auto map is off.

If I start the Repeater connection there comes up two messages in short time:

Start Encryption, waiting server
Network stopped, closing viewer

This is the output from the debug window:

Code: Select all

fh is 3
Start uvnc.com 3256 0 5500
 --Der Vorgang wurde erfolgreich beendet.
Start Repeater connection to uvnc.com on port 5500
 --Der Vorgang wurde erfolgreich beendet.
Socket error read, error code 10054
--Eine vorhandene Verbindung wurde vom Remotehost geschlossen.
Can anybody help me?

At least a question to the ID: In the documentation is written to use 1-9999. In one post I read something like 35849. How long can this ID be?

Does anybody have the same problem? Or does the repeater connection works well by others?

No, I have only a webhosting by my ISP, not a root access to the server :-(

I can connect to the repeater with the viewer but not reliably with the server. Can see this in the log.

bummer.. I have been using the windows version of the repeater that is included in the pchelpware download and seems to work great. I am beginning to wonder if there is a glitch or something in the the one at uvnc.com. I have seen several posts now that say it works then it does not work etc.

We need to see if we can get another few repeaters running but everyone can not use the pchelpware repeater it is more for simply testing not for everyone to use

For me it will only connect the repeater from local host... DUH... that is the last place that I need it... No other computer (Client or Server will NOT connect)

Where is the answers from the programmers? Seems like the same complaint and no answers... Is this monitored?
