can "server ip address" be a domain name?
can "server ip address" be a domain name?
now on to the next step. I have managed to connect servers to my IP address. I have a dynamic IP but I wan't to use direct connection still. I have a domain name that allways points to the right IP. Can I put this domain name in the "server ip address / External detected ip address" -field when creating the server?
Re: can "server ip address" be a domain name?
yes if the domain name is a FQDN that will work fine.

Re: can "server ip address" be a domain name?
so... should I end the domain name with a . (dot) like the example in wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FQDN)?
i.e mydomain.com.
instead of
mydomain.com
i.e mydomain.com.
instead of
mydomain.com
Re: can "server ip address" be a domain name?
It works w/o a dot appended.
Re: can "server ip address" be a domain name?
I was thinking more like www.pchelpware.com that is a FQDN...But I am glad it is working for you..
That is a domain name that is routable via the internet..

Re: can "server ip address" be a domain name?
thanks. I have (for the first time) managed to get one server connected to my viewer with a domainname instead of the IP. works like a charm.
