UltraVNC v1.0.2 does not detect DRM Plugin (MSR4PLugin)

I downloaded the latest UltraVNC v1.0.2 and installed it on my Windows XP Professional SP2 (with latest MS Tuesday patches installed).

Since I want to generate a new rc4key I need a working MSR4Plugin. MSR4Plugin v1.2 is installed by default in the subfolder C:\Program Files\UltraVNC\plugin, but when I start UltraVNC and look in Admin Properties, the plugin is not detected.

Subsequently I downloaded the MSR4Plugin v1.1.8 from http://msrc4plugin.home.comcast.net/msrc4plugin.html. It is stated on this site, that PLugin v1.2 doesn't work on some systems with XP.

I copied and pasted the contents of v1.1.8 to the subfolder C:\Program Files\UltraVNC\plugin:

Still, UltraVNC continues not to detect the plugin.

Please advise.

try copying the dsm plugins to the utlravnc folder or the folder that contains the winvnc.exe.

You can also try the new beta plugin seems to be working..

MSRC4 1.2.2 RC1 is up on the BETA page.

Copy the plugin file into your UltraVnc directory. - The DSM file needs to be in the same directory as the vncviewer and winvnc programs. The plugins may be found in the "plugins" directory under your UltraVNC directory. If you don't find the plugins there, download them from this website and unzip them to your UltraVNC directory.

Move the MSRC4plugin_noreg.dsm from
C:\Program Files\UltraVNC\plugin <--- wrong (fail, only for backup purpose)

to good place:
the plugin should there:
C:\Program Files\UltraVNC\ <--- good (working)

I am still not able to get UltraVNC viewer 1.0.2 to use the MSR4Plugin. I am using version 1.2.2. I am not a new user and have everything generated, renamed, and in appropriate directories. I can get UltraVNC viewer 1.0 to load and use the current MSR4Plugin as it should.

The error message is: The plugin cannot be loaded, please check its integrity. This only happens with UltraVnc Viewer 1.0.2. If I use version 1.0, the plugin works just fine.

I discovered what the problem was. When Ultravnc 1.0.2 installed and made the icon for the viewer, it did not fill in the "Start In" line for the icon. Without this line filled in, the viewer did not know where its parent directory was located. I checked the icon for both versions and found the new version did not have the start in line filled out while the older version did. I manually filled in the directory information, and now version 1.0.2 finds MSRC4Plugin.dsm.
