Fix for New MS-Logon v2: new authSSP.dll

Post by Marscha »

An update for new ms-logon v2 is out and will be available soon.
This should fix the NT 4SP6a problem with wrong security dll (secur32.dll instead of security.dll).

Please wait until download location is announced.

Upgrade MS Logon "v.2" from RC16

Post by Guest »

I tried in two RC18 VNC PC with new MS Logon and it worked fine. Thanks. But I deployed around 100 PC with RC16, tried in one of this but failed. Can I do something through Group Policy to upgrade to new MS Logon (such as copy files or update registry)? Thanks anyway.

Thanks for the feedback.
Currently this new ms-logon feature is not really integrated with the rest of ultravnc because
- it is indeed very new
- it is supposed to change further
- there's very limited feedback until now
Once it's more stable it will be integrated into the 'normal' releases  .

Don't mean to be a pest. I am just very interested in the fix for the new MSLogon to work on NT workstations. Any idea when and where it will be available for download?

Sorry, I've been on vacation for a while :)
I think I'll have out a new version of mslogon2 the next days.
This will have a lot of changes and also incorporates the fix for the NT4SP6a problem
(at least I hope that it helps since I have no NT4SP6a here for testing).
Will be announced in this forum.

Glad to have you back Marscha.

I can help you test on NT4 SP6a. I desperately need a fix for it as the current one logons really slowly for those standalone NT Servers. My boss has been bugging me about it...

It works fine for Win2000 and NT Domain Controller.

Catch-22 here. Until it is integrated with Rudi's releases it won't get the required testing. I'm sure I'm not alone in stopping both the testing and deployment of UltraVNC until this mess is sorted out.

... so I have domain users but I'd like to allow domain admins only... how do I do this in group one?
