Can't start pchelpware r1 in repeater mode

Post by ndinev »

I have read "Pchelpware Step By Step Version 7"

I have tried direct connection - works fine.

Then I tried via repeater - uvnc.com with appropriate settings given in the doc. Pressing test button on viewer confing gives everything OK. I am not using https proxy.

Here is what I am getting in server and viewer logs when trying to establish connection

In the server log
Connect repeater success
...
Read Failed
10054
Encryption failed...
...
...
Init network failed

In the viewer debug
Waiting for server to become online ..
--The operation completed successfully.
Socket error read, error code 10053
--An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.
Both machines uses WinXP and works ok in direct mode. Pchelpware is rel. 1

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

10x in advance

To bevtech: Machines are in the same network for both test I mention - direct and via repeater. Can this cause a problem when using repeater?

To redge: I have tried few different IDs in order to avoid this problem. So there is a small chance this to be a problem. Still I expect to see some reasonable error message if this was the case.

Wow interesting.. Are you by any change using the proxy setting when creating your server??

If so make sure nothing else is using the ssl port. skype and other other application that uses ssl can not be running at the time when you are using pchelpware

I have the same error message for server, except that the code is 10053, not 10054, and there is a message "An established connection was aborted by the software in yo..." (log window is to small! Cannot expand to see the complete message)

I am testing with both server and viewer in my computer. That is, both go through the same network and router to uvnc.com

There is no error for the viewer. It started successfully and waiting for server...

It is the same if Https proxy is used.

Any help?

Same here:

On the viewer I get a socket read error 10004.

On the server side, the info window is too small and can't be resized to make the messages clearly readable, but as far as I can read it says:
Waiting for Viewer...
Read Failed
10054
Encryption failed. If using proxy, new repeater listening to 443 [...]
An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote hos [...]
An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote hos [...]
Init Network failed
Viewer and server are on separate computers within a LAN. On the viewer PC, ZoneAlarm is running, on the server laptop Windows Firewall.

Thanks in advance for any help - and thanks for all your efforts with PcHelpWare!

hmm..not sure if you have the repeater ports open and the repeater installed cleanly, deleted the settings.txt file if you had a previous repeater in its place it should work.

Mine is on a static ip with direct access to the internet. The port 443 can only be forwarding once for a static ip. If there is a nat to nat involved that maybe the problem..;)

I was getting the same error, when I had alpha characters in my viewer ID. Once I changed to numeric in ID then everything worked. This may not work for everybody, because you could clearly have a lot of different problems with ports being opened, but I figured I would let people know what worked for me. Good luck. ;-)

I have noted in a previous post uvnc.com the same problem with this log :
Start
Using Repeater
Uvnc.com
ID :1234
Connect repeater success
Setting up encryption
Waiting for viewer…
Read Fail
10054
Encryption failed, if using, new repeater listening to 443
Une connexion existante a du être fermée par l’hôte distant
Une connexion existante a du être fermée par l’hôte distant
Init Network failed

The problem is not resolved and it is always impossible to start pchelpware whatever the settings.

When I read the log text in the different posts I see that there is a sentence in the language (english, french....) of the computer ! Is it observed by others users ? This problem must call Rudy !
I appreciate some help because I can't start pchelpware whatever the settings.
Many thanks.

I connect via repeater succussfully today! Both with and without Https Proxy are working.

What have I done? I am not too sure if it is because of 1SCVDLL.dll and 1SCDLL.dll update.

I updated them yesterday but the connection was still failed.

But the connection is working today!

Hmm...

Not working again these two days. :(

Error message something like

No connection could be made because the target machine a.......
Init Network failed

The message window is too small and cannot be expanded. Hence, cannot see the whole message.

Looks like something is not right at uvnc.com server this time.

Maybe an issue with the pchelpware repeater.

I would not use the ID 1234. Try other combinations

like 8732 or 99738 the more unique the combination the better change you will not hit an id that another user is trying..;)

Is your pchelpware working with a direct connection no repeater??

I get the same error messages testing with repeater. All hosts (including the repeater) are in the same network without any firewall.

The ports are ok, the sockets connect, but i always get the same "encryption error". What happens first when server and viewer connect to the repeater. Is there any documentation about the communication protocoll (ID exchange, etc.)?

I have tried various ID. So I do not think it is due to the ID.

I have no problem with direct connection.

Anyway, today, the error message has changed back to what I saw last time, i.e.

"An established connection was aborted by the software in yo..."

I did not do any thing at all to PC Helpware.

It's like taking roller coster: not working :-( , then suddenly working :-) , then not working again :-(

I have the same problem using uvnc.com server.
error 10053 Encryption failed.
I've tried with different machines and different connection types (cable, direct, modem).
I've tested the system on my internal network (server, viewer, repeater) and it works fine.

well I what if you put your own repeaters in place?? It is possible that the repeater at uvnc just is not working properly. This would explain it working then all of the sudden not working.. If everyone uses the repeater at the same time I would imagine it would crash. I was designed to be used as a test and I do not think it has alot of bandwith. The dyn part I do believe is somewhat hard coded to uvnc.com ( not 100% on that a developer can confirm). I personally have had excellent success with pchelpware but I use my own repeater and do not use the dyn part.

If you do not have a static IP for your own repeater. I am sure that you can create a dynamic dns account and use your own.dyndns.com in place of a static ip..

Just a possible workaround if you are having issues with the uvnc repeater..:)
