no popup for winvnc service installation

Post by wil1 »

Hi,

Is it possible to have no popup when we install winvnc service
Just a silent install

Like winvnc -install -silent

because i must activate the winvnc service or desactive it a lot of time by day on a pc server.
I activate (install service) or desactivate(remove winvnc service) it at distance with a personal soft.
Because i don't want that winvnc service run allaways on a server machine.
And the popup are not a good thing for me, i can have 10 or 20 windows popup on a server by day

Thanks

What is wrong with running winvnc.exe as an application, with it set to not start when windows starts? Then you could just start and stop it, with w/e method you are using to install/uninstall.
using latest code.... always... except when im not.

Hi,

Yes it's a solution, but not good for me, because sometimes i must restart the server and i will keep the connection after reeboot, and with vnc service application i can take control if the session is close. My personal soft work in service application, i don't need an open session or a lock session to take control, it can start, restart (if probleme) or stop the vnc service.

ah, well i believe there is -installs for a silent install, but i think theres still issues with it not actually being silent. You might give it a try.

Hi,

Rudi if you see this post and the previous please could you add just a little parameter on the commande line of winvnc to have a silent install :) (no popuup....)
Or other solution just a flash popup like the previous version of ultravnc (RC 11 or earlier) with no confirmation

I think it's not a great work in comparison with all the great work you do.

Thanks

Try -reinstall (use auto timed Messageboxes) instead of -install
This is normal used for upgrade, but also work for install

I think i even removed thoose timed boxes in TEST19

- reinstal do same like install

But reinstall use other messageBoxes (timed messagebox),
they should disappear after a while.
