SC aborts on startup?

Post by dbarker »

I have created a new SC connection for my work and whenever someone starts the SC utility it starts and shows in the task bar for about 1 second then it closes itself. Please help if you can. I have recreated the file several times with the same results.

Thanks
Dan

I would have thought that someone would have at least commented on this problem. At least tell me i screwed up or something but just ignoring a request for help is not a good business practice. You have a link on your site asking for donations yet you ignore requests for help, how many donations do you get with this strategy.

Thanks for nothing and have a good day.

direct mode (not mode II)
vncviewer -listen 5500 must be running and started before starting SC

sorry, but we doing our answer under our free time, not paid time is it open source software GPL not business software stress.

a little more detail could give better answer and quicker answer....

over Internet (WAN) or intranet (LAN) ?
OS where viewer lunched ?
OS where SC lunched ?

over Internet, public_static_ip or FQDN of remote is recommanded.
server initiate a connection to viewer, so SC must know where to connect.

I do apologize to you for my last post, as you can see I have become quite frustrated with the SC utility and have taken it out on you.

I have been using this utility for several months now and have become rather attached to it. It was just recently that we changed ISP's and with that came a new IP address, thus my dilemma. I recreated the utility just like i did the first and for some reason this one refused to connect.

THANK YOU for your response and the resolution to my problem, it was something as simple as my stupidity preventing the connection to SC.
vncviewer -listen 5500 must be running and started before starting SC
I forgot to direct the listener to the proper port on my system.

Thank you
