WinVNC Authentication Error

Post by creos21 »

I am installing UltraVNC version 1.0.1 on about 150 computers. Most of them work just fine, MS Login II appears to be working. On maybe 1 in 20 computers though, during startup of UltraVNC server, they'll get an error:

"No password has been set & this machine has been preconfigured to prevent users from setting their own. You must contact a System Administrator to configure WinNVC properly."

No one will be able to connect to these PC's using UltraVNC viewer until the VNC password in the Authentication section of the VNC server is manually reset.

Even when I set the password multiple times, it won't save and UltraVNC will give this error. It doesn't seem to matter who's logged on to the machine and we have UltraVNC being run as a system app (loads before login) so I'm thinking this must have something to do with the actual PC. Any thoughts?
