New user UltraVNC SC - Questions re helpdesk.txt + compiler

Dear all

I posted this yesterday in the beginners section but I think its probably more appropriate to list here - apologies.

1.
I have just attempted to install and run UltraVNC SC. If I run it over my LAN using internal IP addresses it works fine.

However if I try to run it over the net it doesnt work. I wondered about the syntax for adding my dynamic dns name (I do not have a static IP).

The standard syntax is:
[HOST]
Internet support
-connect 192.168.1.102:5500 -noregistry

I typed:
[HOST]
Internet support
-connect siherts.dynu.com:5500 -noregistry

Have I got the syntax correct?? is it one or two collons?? Do I need the 5500??

I use a netgear router (DG834G) and have created a service to for VNC on port 5500 TCP. Should it be TCP and UDP?? I have added it as a firewall rule and fwd the traffic to my PCs fixed IP on the LAN.

2.

Which online compiler do I use RC23 or REL1.00?? Does it matter which one to use??

found this to be a excellent single click builder. Pretty self explanitory when you run it.

Get the one for UltraVNC, put you dns name or IP address in the .ini file

You can package both files using the WinZip Self-Extractor and make this even easier for the end user. Set the self-extracting file to execute oneclickvnc.exe upon extraction and you can distribute it as a single file.
