black screen

Post by jonrtaylor3 »

I have intermittent problems getting a black screen. I'm using Windows 2003 Server (server) and WindowsXP (client). Version 18. At times VNC works perfectly, then if there is a glitch in the connection, the next time I log on all I see is a black screen. I can access the server via Remote Desktop. I installed the video driver on the server side but that didn't help. (am I supposed to also install it on the client side?)

What does work is one or two reboots (which I do via Remote Desktop).

I have not tried test19 yet because I'm running a "mission critical" program and can't risk losing the remote connection for long.

Any advice? Thanks.

I think your having an issue with fast user switching (FUS) RC 18 can't support this, but there has been some develpoement work on 19 (don't recall the details).

I beleive that the same can happen if you rdesktop in and connect with VNC prior to a reboot.

some advice ive got is; try running test_19, at the worse, it crashes and you have to remote desktop in to restart it.
using latest code.... always... except when im not.
