reuse video driver for bigger virtual desktop

Post by Tom Bern »

Hi,

I already saw someone writing about 8000x8000 pixel-sized displays. How can I do repeat with the video driver in UltraVNC?

The reason:
For high-quality print-like screen shots and for convenience, I'd like to have a virtual screen of any possible size with any possible physical resolution (from 72..300 dpi). It could replace the normal screen for some time or it could co-exist as virtual display in multiple monitor configurations.
This should be possible as long as there is enough RAM. I guess the video driver idea is the only choise left after I stopped searching for a hook into the Windows GDI.

Are there any other projects touching this subject?

Thanks for the reply

Seems like this topic did not reach yet the heart of the vnc team.

The vitual driver is no part of ultravnc or will be in the future.

Technical it no problem, but that part has been commerrcial licensed and can not be included.
