screen freeze

Post by jonrtaylor3 »

Using Windows 2003 server, Windows XP client...

I can log on to the server, however after a few minutes the screen freezes. Refresh screen has no effect. If I close the program and log back on, everything is fine for another few minutes.

This problem also occurred with "RealVNC."

What should I check for?

Thanks.

If you have a wireless connection, check if the connection is not reset by your router.
LAN ?
Internet ?

I have a wired connection, static DSL, running through a Westel Modem and a Linksys router.

How do I find out if the connection is being reset? Would there be a log file to show this?

Thanks!

Please give TEST19 a try...

Test19 use a package size that is better suitable for wireless.
I had the problem with RC18 and wireless lan +driver, to many
little packages where flooding the wireless and cause my topcom router to reset.

Internet is not the same as lan, but perhaps the cause is the same.
There are also reports that some routers block after a while of
inactivity, minimizing vnc for a longer period stop connection.

No out the box solution, just try and error...

Rudi, thanks. I'm not sure what test19 is.
