multiple WinVNC servers

Post by Far-Far-Away »

cheers

i have a computer running ultravnc server that i use to show it screen to students.

i have disabled viewers input so that viewers can only watch the screen but not use the computer.

everything works fine, the only thing is that i had to sit next to that pc to use it.

so, now i want to control that pc from other computer with ultravnc viewer, but i cant because i have disabled viewers keyboard.

is there any possibilities to run two ultravnc server on single machine same time like

uvnc server1 listens port 5900 and has keyboard input disabled for students to watch

uvnc server2 listens port 5901 and has keyboard input enabled for me to control that very pc

i tried to run another instance of uvnc server but got error message "another instance of winvnc is already running"

any ideas?

Thanks, i still havent found on how to run two instances of winvnc an WinXP machine so that they can have independent settings, like:

winvnc1 serving the teacher:
- remote keyboard input allowed
- main port 5900 (default)

winvnc2 serving the students:
- remote keyboard input disabled
- main port 5910

i just installed UltraVNC 1.0.2 and did run "winvnc -multi" but on task list there is only one winvnc and no extra "eyes" on right corner of the screen.
