We have been using single click for about 1 year now for remote support of our clients computers. Basically we send our clients to the web site and they run the SC file. We are having it connect using DDNS. Now we have 2 techs and therefor 2 open ports on our router....5500 and 5501. We are using the DSM plugin for encryption and our listener starts with these options: C:\VNCviewer\vncviewer.exe -listen 5500 -dsmplugin MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm. DSM plugin seems to be version 1.1.8.0. SC.exe version seems to be: 4, 10, 0, 1. Basically i am posting these version information because we have not built a new singleclick file for a year now and i dont know if its out of date, or if there are newer versions. All connections are on 3000k/256k. Our office connection is 5000k/512k. Now for the questions:
1. We are having problems on both tech's pc's(winxp pro sp2) with disconnecting sessions. Basically they will be working then connection is gone. The use can then reconnect and they are back up again. This can happen a few times within 15 mins of support. Any reason why this would happen?
2. Do we really need to use the DSM plugin for security? Should i be using something other than DSM? When i setup the remote system i figured someone would be able to hack into the session and see what we are doing on clinets pc's. Sometimes we are working on systems that are need to stay confidential and we do type passwords in on their systems sometimes. I think this plugin may be some of my connection problems, that is the only reason i am asking.
3. When supporting remote pc's we seem to get very slow response. This seems to go hand in hand with the drops. It seems to get really...really slow, then wham! gone. Even during normal operation though it seem to be rather slow comparing to remote desktop.
4. How do i know the screen actually is beeing blanked?? We use the blank screen button quite often when working on a clients pc that we dont want them knowing where we are going so that they can later find that area and screw everything up. Sometimes i see a taskbar icon that says blankscreen and other times i dont.
5. If we cant resolve the connections dropping, is there any way to have SC call back home to the viewer if it looses connection by way other than user initiated?
6. For the life of me I cannot connect to any and i mean ANY windows 98 SE machine. Each time i have tried it either give the connect prompt to the tech and then nothing shows, or it connects i get the screen for about 2 seconds and then its gone. Could this be related to DSM? or any other ideas why SC would have this kind of behavior on Win 98SE?
Thanks for all your help in advance!

Re: Some Questions....
try pchelpware, you should very very happy performance and security for free remote support and solve, I think, all your 6 questions.
http://www.pchelpware.com/
pchelpware_viewer required and directx 9.0c
pchelpware_server required (you should create first)
not compatible VNC, but connection is same ways of SC !
you can use your existing helpdesk.txt for create your pchelpware_server

Well i dont have debug info, but it was on a ibm r40 laptop and i tested it on a desktop here and it works fine.
Couple of questions about helpware.
What is the Auto checkbox?
Can i do any screen blanking???
Can i use the -autoreconnect switch on a direct connection so that if the connection drops the server retries to connect??\
Thanks

Re: Some Questions....
-autoreconnect: Supported
-[]auto= viewer auto reconnect
+chat (done for next update)
+voice (working on)
+...
+screen_blanking
Still thinking..i want to add screen blanking on the server tray icon instead
of sending a message from the viewer. During screen blanking you should see a icon change or something graphical, so you now it works.
As we try to support Vista, this also need to be checked, possible current methods don't work in Vista.

What is the Auto checkbox?
enable before begin connection
direct connection --> continue listening after you had pressed "Start listening" but there no stop listening. you should Cancel pchelpware_viewer for stop listening connection.
connect via repeater --> auto reconnect to repeater as session finished to be ready to accept next connection.
Can i do any screen blanking???
next build was answer Rudi

Re: Some Questions....
When i choose high/mid/low and close the viewer, then i open it next time, it does not have my last choice. Instead it defaults back to mid.
Can that be changed???

Re: Some Questions....
I confirm, phw 14 and all others older release.
every time you open pchelpware, is start with bandwith = mid
I agree, pchelpware should remember last selection like others options.
