NEWBIE - How secure is classic authentication?

Post by germo »

Hi All,

I need to connect to work from home, but is using classic authentication a bad idea? (even with one of the DSM plugins?)

I'm having trouble using the MSII (new) logon. I'm not part of a domain and can't seem to create one.

Thanks very much

As soon as you use MSRC4 plugin with key file the classical authentication is secure, because the plugin key file is the real "strong" additional authentication.

I'm having trouble using the MSII (new) logon. I'm not part of a domain and can't seem to create one.
server: not possible to use mslogon II on XP Home feature limited from factory
VNC password or MS logon I only work on vnc server over XP Home

VNC password should not match anyway of user account password.
otherwise, authentication always fail.
