Hi,
I need some help setting up ultra vnc, I was able to get it to work at home, but I cant figure out why it wont work at our office.
At the office we are a verizon customer with a westell 6100 modem. The modem is connected to a 16 port switch.
I installed ultravnc server on the computer i want to be able to remote access, I went into my westell modem and opened up ports 5000 to 5900.
The westell modem's firewall is off I believe. I am not aware of any other firewalls in place.
I can remote view the computer inside the lan by typing in the 198.XXX.X.XX address, but if i try doing it through the IP address, its not connecting.
Am i missing a step here?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Help setting up ultravnc with office lan
Re: Help setting up ultravnc with office lan
Are you trying this in a LAN only?? because without port forwarding enabled you only can use LAN...
Also make sure that you dont have a software firewall causing you problem..

Re: Help setting up ultravnc with office lan
I want to be able to access the vnc server computer from outside the LAN. I have forwarded the ports on my westell modem, 5500, 5800 and 5900.
I checked to make sure my westell modem firewall was off and the computer running ultravnc was allowing vnc as an exception through its firewall.

You're not trying to use the 198.xxx.xxx.xxx address from outside the network are you?
